Founded in 1937, Halmstad BTK is considered one of Swedens´ most successful table tennis clubs. The mens team as well as the womens team has won several league titles in the top elite division. The most well known male player from Halmstad BTK is former world champion Jörgen Persson and the most well known female player is Åsa Svensson, during the 1990´s one of the best players in Europe.
